Product origin

Linen kitchen towels are made from flax fibers, which are derived from the stem of the flax plant. The process involves harvesting, retting, scutching, and weaving.

The flax plant is harvested, dried, and the seeds are removed. The fibers are then separated from the rest of the plant through retting, where the flax is soaked in water to break down the pectin holding the fibers together. The fibers are then washed and dried before being scutched to remove the outer bark. The long fibers are spun into yarn, which is woven into fabric using a loom. The finished fabric is cut and sewn into individual kitchen towels.

Despite the time-consuming process, linen kitchen towels are popular due to their durability, absorbency, and natural antimicrobial properties, making them a sustainable and eco-friendly choice for the kitchen.
